Community Supports Students at South Washington County Schools

Hundreds of students in South Washington County Schools will go back to class this September with all the school supplies they need thanks to generous donations from the community.

The largest donation to date came from King of Kings Church in Woodbury, which provided 250 backpacks filled with other school supplies. Church members also worked to raised nearly $1,400 to buy graphing and scientific calculators for students. Additionally, youth members and South Washington County School students Elly and Resse Rowan opened a lemonade stand to help raise money to buy supplies for their peers.

Other donations have been received from Allina Health, Self Esteem Brands and donations collected by Woodbury Police during Night to Unite Events.

Many individual community members and district staff also donated dozens of supplies that are given to schools throughout the district to help students and staff have a successful start to the school year. District 833 extends its gratitude to everyone who donated school supplies.
