National Milk Day, January 11

As kids grow, getting enough calcium is vital for growth.  Children 4-8 years old should get 1,000 mg daily, and children 9-13 should have 1,300 mg daily. One cup of skim or low-fat milk contains about 300 mg of calcium, making it a great way to meet these goals.

To celebrate National Milk Day, Nutrition Services will offer a magic milk straw on January 12th as a special treat, to all students who take a complete meal.
