South Washington County Schools Departments are available to answer any questions you may have:

The superintendent of schools is the chief administrative officer of the district, appointed by and directly responsible to the School Board. The superintendent serves as an ex-officio (non-voting) member of the School Board, facilitates the work of the Board and is responsible to the Board for providing direction and leadership to the school district.

Keith Jacobus is the superintendent of South Washington County Schools. His work is supported by Assistant Superintendents Michael Johnson, Julie Nielsen and Kristine Schaefer, along with the other members of his Cabinet.

District 833 is committed to providing effective communications to students, families, staff and residents. Learn how to stay connected with what takes place across South Washington County Schools.

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

To promote access to language through the most appropriate mode and amplification option for each student.

Early childhood developmental screening helps a school district identify children who may benefit from district and community resources available to help in their development.

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

South Washington County Schools Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program provides programs and services for young children with disabilities from birth to age five. ECSE services are provided throughout the district in a variety of locations and service models.

The Office of Educational Achievement and Integration is committed to working in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure the academic success of students within District 833.

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The English Learner (EL) program in South Washington County Schools follows governmental and professional guidelines to support students who are learning English as a Second Language (ESL). The program provides the assistance students need for success in school.

9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Facilities Department is responsible for maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects for all buildings in the district. Other areas of responsibility for the Facilities Department include Health and Safety, Indoor Air Quality, Maintenance, Grounds and Central Warehouse.

The district's Finance Department monitors activity to ensure funds spent are within guidelines established by the budget approved by the School Board and that all expenditures are in compliance with Minnesota statute.

Gifted students in District 833 are those able learners who by virtue of outstanding abilities are capable of high performance.

The district's Health Services department provides care for students with illness, injuries and chronic health conditions.

The Department of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment primarily supports the District with implementing the continuous improvement process.

The Department of Special Services encompasses Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Health Services, Psychological Services, Homebound Services, and other miscellaneous programs and projects.

Student Information is committed to serving the needs of all students, families and staff. The department offers a centralized location for the enrollment of all students.

The mission of the district’s Teaching and Learning Department is to continuously develop, design and align the district’s curriculum, instruction, intervention, assessment and professional development for the success of all learners.

The Technology department supports the efforts of the hard working teachers and staff of South Washington County Schools to make all students get a quality education in a safe and secure network environment.

The goal of the transportation department is to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation to students who reside in our school district.
